Counselors

Executive Director & Counselor

Born and raised in Shreveport, David returned to his hometown in 2014 after attending LSU and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. Stirred by the lack of application of biblical truth to daily life, David received CCEF training and began counseling in Shreveport in 2016. David is certified by the Association of Biblical Counselors and ordained as a ruling elder in the PCA.
Besides counseling, David also enjoys writing, both as ministry and play. He’s written several works of creative non-fiction, such as Resurrecting Beauty, as well as fiction, such as Subversive Stories, a book of short stories based on the parables, and Down to Earth, a novel.
David has been married to his wife Jessica since 2010, with whom he has three lively children and a needy golden retriever. In his spare time he enjoys reading, music, and the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and walking through the woods.

Counselor

Shelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MS in Counseling and is certified with the Association of Biblical Counselors.
Shelly first counseled with students at Centenary College Counseling Center and worked at Brentwood Behavioral Hospital in the Intensive Outpatient and Adult Psychiatric Inpatient units, where she conducted group, individual and family counseling. In 2012 Shelly was promoted to the Intensive Women’s program where she worked with patients with a history of abuse and trauma, and suffering depression, anxiety, grief and loss. She then served as counselor at Red River Behavioral Center.
Shelly especially has a heart for faith-based (ministry) counseling and has served in various counseling, teaching, and administrative capacities within local churches. After studying biblical counseling on her own for fifteen years, Shelly received CCEF training and worked with Biblical Counseling & Training Ministries for five years. She has a passion for working with local church leadership to help people know Christ more fully and live out the gospel in everyday life.
Shelly is blessed with three grown kids - two sons and one daughter. In her free time she loves being outdoors – hiking, jogging, gardening. She also loves baking and listening to fiction audiobooks.

Counselor

Weston is an ordained minister, biblical counselor, and executive coach who has served as a pastor in local church contexts for over twenty years. For the past 15 years, Weston has lived in Shreveport where he is currently an elder at Covenant Shreveport. He holds a Masters in Theological Studies from Southwestern Seminary as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Southern Seminary. Additionally, Weston is a certified coach through CMM, a member of the International Coaching Federation, and a licensed trainer of COACH Model for Christian Leaders. Lastly, Weston is a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider - Level 1 (CCTCP-1) and is certified with the Association of Biblical Counselors.

Weston is married to his wife Lindsay, and, together, they have five daughters. In his spare time he enjoys reading detective novels, studying church history, playing the guitar, and embarrassing his children.

Counselor

Rafe is an LPC with an MS in Counseling from LSUS. Having served on a church staff for 17 years, he is also an ordained minister and is certified with the Association of Biblical Counselors. Rafe has counseling experience in a variety of contexts including private practice, school, church and personal settings.
He’s been married to the love of his life, Lauren, since 1998 and they have 2 adult daughters. He enjoys laughing with family and friends, good food, music, and literature, and Louisiana Tech athletics. He is an active member of a local church where he leads men's Bible studies and participates in community-building activities.

Counselor

Emily is a PLPC with a master's in counseling from Louisiana Tech. Prior to counseling at SBC, she spent 20 years serving students in the Bossier Parish school system, where she worked as a teacher, coach, and school counselor.
Passionate about ministry and counseling from a biblical perspective, she believes that our greatest friend and counselor is found in Jesus Christ. Her desire is to encourage, equip, and point others to the hope found in Him through every hill and valley of life.
A lifelong resident of the Shreveport-Bossier area, Emily lives in north Bossier with her husband, Jared, and their two children. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, attending sporting events, being outdoors, and growing in God's Word.

Seth is co-owner of Moreman, Moore & Co. He is a member of Norris Ferry Community Church and is married to Kristen, with whom he has four children - Aubrey, Kate, Henry, and Grey.
TYLER LASH

Board Member
Tyler is an oncologist at Willis-Knighton. He is a member of Norris Ferry Community Church and is married to Lauren, with whom he has three children - John Tyler, Luke, and Ella Rose.
STEPHEN MAGYAR

Board Member
Stephen is the Branch Manager of Assurance Financial Group in Shreveport/Bossier City. He is a member of First United Methodist Church and is married to Linnae, with whom he has two children, Micah and Emma Jo.
KEVIN SINGLETARY

Board Member
Kevin is a social worker for Fresenius Medical Care. He leads worship music and is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Kevin is married to Hailey, with whom he has four children - Lucy, Lily, John, and Benji.
QUINN HILL

Advisory Board Member
Quinn is pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Shreveport. He is married to Kim and has four children - Corin, Silas, Felix, and Lida.

Pat is a freelance accountant. He’s a member of Norris Ferry Community Church and is married to April, with whom he has three children - Claire, Sophie, and Nate.
